Coffee beans can encounter mold during growing, processing, and storage, especially in warm or damp conditions. You usually cannot judge that from the finished bag. The useful question is simple: was this batch actually tested?
Every roasted Trevara batch goes to SGS, an independent lab, to be screened for mold before it ships. Batch No. 1 passed with no mold detected. If a batch ever fails, it does not ship.

Mold and mycotoxins are related, but they are not the same. Certain molds can produce mycotoxins. Trevara tests each batch for both mold and 10 named mycotoxins, so one result is never used as a stand in for the other.
Scan the QR code on your can and the SGS report opens on your phone. You can see the result, the reporting threshold, and the other measures tested for that specific batch.
Trevara comes in a rigid, airtight metal can, not a plastic-lined bag. It keeps light, air and moisture out. After opening, just close the lid and keep it somewhere cool and dry.
Trevara is specialty grade, single origin coffee from Amazonas, Peru. The medium roast is smooth and creamy, with cocoa and stone fruit notes and no harsh bitter finish. Choose whole bean or ground.
Founder Max Irvine built Trevara because he wanted great coffee with fewer plastic touchpoints and real proof behind the claims. That is why Trevara uses metal packaging, independently tests every roasted batch, and makes the report easy for you to read.
