It's in the research. And it's in the cup.

Researchers tested 155 drinks in 2025. Every single one had microplastics in it — hot coffee averaged 43 particles per liter. The bean isn't the problem. Everything it touches on the way to your cup is.
Just found out there's plastic in your coffee? Here's why the fix is easier than you think.

Researchers tested 155 drinks in 2025. Every single one had microplastics in it — hot coffee averaged 43 particles per liter. The bean isn't the problem. Everything it touches on the way to your cup is.

The same University of Birmingham study identified plastic packaging as a major source of particles in the beverages it tested. It did not test retail coffee bags, so it cannot tell us what a coffee bag adds. But if you want less plastic touching your coffee, the package is one easy place to start. Trevara comes in a metal can.

Every roasted batch goes to SGS, an independent lab, for screening for microplastics, mold, mycotoxins, and heavy metals. You get the result for the coffee you are actually drinking.

Scan the QR code on your can and the full batch report opens on your phone. The actual measurement and detection limit are there whenever you want them.
*Batch №1, roasted bean, tested by SGS. Microplastics: no confirmed particles above 50 µm per 8 oz cup. "0" means below the lab's detection limit.

Light and oxygen make coffee taste stale. The opaque, rigid, airtight can helps keep both out, so the last cup can taste closer to the first.

Trevara is specialty grade, single origin coffee from Amazonas, Peru. Choose medium for cocoa and stone fruit or dark for a full, round cup with dark cocoa notes. Whole bean or ground.

Founder Max Irvine built Trevara because he wanted great coffee with fewer plastic touchpoints and real proof behind the claims. That is why Trevara uses metal packaging, independently tests every roasted batch, and makes the report easy for you to read.
Sealed in a metal can, never a plastic-lined bag — and screened for microplastics, mold, mycotoxins and heavy metals by an independent lab, every single batch.

Most coffee is packed in plastic, brewed through plastic and never tested. Trevara fixes the parts we can control: a metal can, an independent lab report on every batch, and coffee that's actually good.
Microplastics, mold, mycotoxins and heavy metals — every batch, at SGS.
We don't call Trevara "microplastic-free." No lab can prove zero. We show you the number and the detection limit.

I have been buying my beans off trade and other subscription services for the past year. This has exceeded the flavor profile of any bag I’ve gotten from them. And a plus it comes in non plastic reusable packaging. Great beans.
I gotta say, I really love the flavor of this coffee! I am so excited and I will definitely subscribe!
Great coffee. Very smooth flavor profile. Will definitely be back for more.
So happy to finally get my hands on a plastic free bean!
Smooth!

Lab results describe the tested batch of roasted coffee and are reported with the lab's detection limits; "0" and "non-detect" mean below the detection limit, not absolute absence. Independent lab results on the roasted bean — what's in your can before your grinder or filter touches it.

"0" and "non-detect" mean below the lab's detection limit for that method. Every batch is tested the same way; a failed batch doesn't ship.
